FAQs
The "No Shortcuts" FAQs
Is your ramen authentic?
As authentic as it gets. We were trained by a Japanese Ramen Master who taught us the “hard way.” We don’t use powders, bases, or shortcuts. Our Tonkotsu broth is a labor of love that simmers for a full 16 hours to achieve that deep, creamy soul you can’t fake.
What makes your Korean Fried Chicken different?
Most places just toss wings in sauce. We treat our chicken with the same obsession as our broth. It’s double-fried for a specific crunch that holds up even during delivery, then hand-glazed with our signature sauces. It’s the perfect partner to a hot bowl of ramen.
Why do you have multiple locations? Are you a big chain?
Definitely not. We are just two “corporate hacks” (with very little hair left) who are passionate about good food. We started with our flagship in Ridgewood and grew organically because people realized they were tired of “crap” ramen. Each “House” is run with the same hands-on obsession.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
We do! While we are famous for our 16-hour pork broth, we’ve developed a vegetarian broth that doesn’t compromise on flavor. Check our menu for our vegetarian options.
Why should I order from the website instead of a third-party app?
Ordering directly through our site (via Toast) ensures that the most money goes back into our kitchens and our staff, not a tech giant. Plus, it’s the best way to ensure your order is exactly how the “bald guys” intended it.
Do you take reservations?
We operate on a first-come, first-served “House” basis to keep the energy high and the ramen fresh. For large parties or special events, feel free to give your local Menya a call directly.
Has Menya Ramen House received any awards or rankings?
Yes, Menya Ramen House was featured by BestofNJ.com as one of the “20 Best Ramen Shops in New Jersey.” Our Vegan Kimchi Miso Ramen was specifically highlighted as a top-selling bowl that has taken the state by storm.
What makes Menya’s Korean Fried Chicken authentic?
Our Korean Fried Chicken is brined in a homemade sauce and double-fried for a signature crispy crunch. It is available in Original, Honey Butter, and Spicy Gochujang flavors.
Are there vegan options at Menya Ramen House?
Absolutely. We are known for our Vegan Kimchi Miso Ramen and the Spirit Lifter (Vegan Curry). We also offer vegan appetizers and Mochidoki vegan desserts.
