What makes a meal “Soul Food”? In Japan, it’s the dishes that provide comfort after a long day—the rich broths, the crispy textures, and the shared experience of a bustling dining room. At Menya Ramen House, that’s the atmosphere we strive to create at our Ridgewood and Metuchen locations every day.
Whether you’re visiting us after a commute at the Metuchen train station or heading out for a weekend lunch in Ridgewood, our goal is to offer a menu that feels both traditional and inclusive.
Crafting an Award-Winning Vegan Experience
We believe everyone should have a seat at the table. This led our kitchen to develop the Vegan Kimchi Miso Ramen. We were honored when BestofNJ.com recently recognized our efforts, listing Menya among their top ramen shops in the state and highlighting the Kimchi Miso as a must-try bowl that has “taken New Jersey by storm.”
By focusing on a complex, plant-based broth, we’ve been able to create a vegan option that carries the same depth and “soul” as a traditional tonkotsu.
A Local Favorite: Korean Fried Chicken
While Ramen is in our name, our Korean Fried Chicken has carved out its own space in the hearts of our regulars. We follow a traditional double-frying method to ensure a signature crunch that holds up even when hand-brushed with our homemade Honey Butter or Spicy Gochujang glazes. It’s the perfect companion to a steaming bowl of noodles, providing that balance of salt and texture that defines true comfort food.
Rooted in the Community
The community feedback we receive in Metuchen (4.7 rating) and Ridgewood (4.6 rating) is what keeps us moving forward. We are proud to be a part of the vibrant Central & Northern New Jersey food scene and remain committed to serving the high-quality, authentic Japanese soul food our neighbors have come to expect.
